March 18, 2020

Dear Family,

I greet you in the matchless name of our Lord Jesus Christ whose Word remains peerless and powerful! We   completely  submit to the sovereignty of God and trust His hand in every situation (Romans 8:28). God employs the   government as one of His ruling agencies in the world (Romans 13:1). We are reminded by Scripture to obey the law   when it does not conflict with the Word of God.

We are obliged to take into full consideration medical professionals’ judgment in response to the Coronavirus. In     keeping with the new federal and state guidelines on social distancing and recommendations concerning not   attending or gathering in groups of ten or more people, the leadership of Old Hopewell Baptist Church prayerfully   decided not to hold worship service this upcoming Sunday (March 22nd). We will keep our congregation posted weekly   on the following Sundays.

This is a temporary solution. We are not forsaking our assembly (Hebrews 10:25) but nurturing it physically. During this   time, we ask that you prayerfully consider how you may continue to spur one another on to good works (Hebrews   10:24), using your spiritual gifts, like showing love, encouragement, kindness and giving.

Additionally, we will postpone our revival services for March as it falls within the window for preventative measures   against the spread of the Coronavirus.

Live Well. Hope Well.

In His Service,
Thomas McSwain, Jr.
Pastor
